Important Notice: TruStage Cybersecurity Incident

We want to share an update regarding TruStage, one of our insurance and financial services partners, and its ongoing recovery from a recent cybersecurity attack that significantly impacted its critical technology infrastructure. TruStage has shared that it continues to make progress through its business continuity efforts.

A comprehensive investigation into the incident is ongoing and may take time to complete. At this time, the full impact or scope of the cybersecurity incident, including whether or what member, customer, or policyholder information may have been affected is not known. We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as they become available.

Although TruStage has not confirmed that a data breach occurred, the security of your personal information remains a top priority. We encourage you to take these general precautions to help protect your personal information:

  • Monitor your account statements and credit reports for any activity you do not recognize.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for each of your online accounts.
  • Turn on multifactor authentication whenever it is offered.
  • Use caution with unexpected emails, phone calls, or text messages that request personal or financial information.
  • Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with the major credit bureaus if you believe sensitive information may have been exposed.
  • Report any suspicious activity promptly to the company involved and to the appropriate consumer protection resources.

TruStage provides loan payment protection and other insurance related products to Harris County Federal Credit Union members. They have shared that their top priorities are honoring commitments and addressing the most pressing needs of partners, members, customers, and the people it insures. Progress has been made in areas such as claims reporting, expanded phone support, and lending-related payment processes. Some areas may take longer to fully restore because they involve more system dependencies to reconnect before normal operations can safely resume.

We understand that service disruptions can be frustrating, especially when you need help with a claim, policy, payment, or other financial matter. Please know that we are staying closely connected with TruStage and will continue to share updates as we receive approved information.

At this time, please continue using the support channels provided below for your specific product or need. If any additional action is needed, we will share approved guidance with you.
